When life gives you lemons... clean all your stainless steel!

     Ok, I saw this on Pinterest and it does really work!!!  Just cut up a lemon and rub it all over your stainless steel sinks, fixtures, etc. and watch out for intense shine, seriously the sparkle is amazing!  It was so cheap (49 cents) and also natural.  I did wear gloves and then rinse with water afterwards.  We are renters, so there isn't a lot that I feel I can do to make the house look better, we can't make any major improvements or changes.  When I discover a small thing like this that helps to make our home look better, it makes a BIG difference.

Christmas Vacation 2013

     This holiday season our cup overfloweth with blessings of great joy!  I (Jen) had two weeks off from work - usually we only get one.  Patrick was in full health this year. (He had shoulder surgery in Dec 2012 and was in a sling for several months following.)  We were able to spend time with both sides of the family.  Our family was generous with their gifting and it was sooo nice to get some new clothes and items for the house.

     My favorite Christmas gift was a card table and chairs.  Now we can seat 8 people instead of just 4 in our apartment!!!  Patrick says that he doesn't have a favorite, he liked all of his gifts.  He already used his dehydrator to make jerky and put his new knife to work.  Ruby LOVES the stuffed hedgehog that our neighbor-friends gave to her.

     This two week long break has been incredibly refreshing.  Patrick and I deep cleaned several rooms, most importantly the den.  It was in dire need of some attention.  Do you know that feeling when you accomplish something major on your to-do list?  Well... it is awesome.  Unfortunately tomorrow is my last day of break and then back to the grindstone.  There is a glimmer of hope though... a huge snow storm blizzard is forecast for Sunday.  Snow day anyone??    ; )
